March Missive from TRH AEthelmearc

Unto Our Beloved Citizens of Aethelmearc do We send the warmest greetings,

As the strength of the mighty Ice Dragon wanes, let us turn thoughts toward renewal and growth.

What We appreciate most about Our Kingdom and Our society has always been its people, who care for and support each other in ways the mundane world may not always exemplify. In a world of tumult, now is the time to stand together as a Kingdom and reinforce these noble values and provide a haven for those looking for a place to learn, explore, and belong. We appreciate the efforts of so many people to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all who wish to participate. As the Ice Dragon retreats and leaves the unpredictable weather of spring in its wake, a new cycle begins. We beseech all of you to continue with this care and to provide shelter for all who seek it.

Let Spring also be a time to plant new seeds of friendship, knowledge, and excitement. We urge each of you to try something new that you have never tried before. We have so many knowledgeable and talented people in our kingdom who love sharing their passions and will help you along your path. Let us continue to introduce new people to the Society, and endeavor together to improve and grow for generations to come.

Finally, We implore the populace to bring Our attention to any worthy candidates for recognition in royal court by writing in these deserving gentles and sharing their deeds with Us. We look forward to hearing the counsel of the populace!

Yours in service to the dream,

Prince Oliver and Princess Grainne

February Missive from TRH AEthelmearc

To the Sylvan Kingdom of Æthelmearc, greetings from your heirs,

Prince Oliver and Princess Grainne.

Beyond Our borders restlessness grows. The discontent between Our neighbors both to the east and west has deepened, and what once were distant murmurs now carry the weight of impending conflict.

It is Our sincere intent to see peace prevail. We have listened carefully to the grievances set before Us by both sides, weighing their words with due gravity. After such consideration, We find that the East Kingdom may have the right of this matter, and should these tensions break into open war, Æthelmearc will stand with the East.

This is a choice made neither lightly nor eagerly, but with clarity of duty. While We hope that wisdom and diplomacy may yet turn aside a clash of arms, We must also be prepared. We therefore ask Our people again to use these winter months well: train, mend, and ready yourselves in body and spirit.

Opportunities to train and hone those skills are already at hand. Musters are being planned, practices and gatherings abound, and chances to ready ourselves can be found throughout the Kingdom. To that end, Their Majesties will send a Great Sylvan Host south to Gulf Wars to come to the aid of Trimaris, and We will be present alongside them!  We urge all those able to make the journey with Us.

May peace yet hold. But if war comes, let Æthelmearc be found united, resolute, and steadfast in honor.

In peace or in war, We serve,

Oliver and Grainne

January Missive from TRH AEthelmearc

To beloved Sylvan Æthelmearc, greetings from your Heirs,

With winter’s grip now firmly embracing Our Kingdom – while revelry, hearth-light, and companionship bring joy to many a hall – we cannot help but hear the rumblings of discontent among our cousins to the East and to the West. As spring’s thaw approaches, we fear that mud may yet be churned beneath boots and wagon trains as their forces muster to settle old grievances.

Know that it is ever Our intent to keep Our realm safe, stable, and prosperous. We shall strive to broker peace between the East and the Middle, yet we must also prepare for what may come should their thirst for war prove too strong to quench.

We ask that both body and mind be readied in service to the greater good of Æthelmearc. Train diligently. Keep your skills and weapons sharp. Let our Sylvan Host stand prepared, should the Tiger and the Dragon choose to meet upon the field. It may be Æthelmearc’s might that stays their hand… or brings any conflict to swift resolution.

In Peace or in War, We serve.

The First Missive from TRH AEthelmearc

Noble Populace,
For many of us, this season is a time of thankfulness and joy. Unfortunately that is not the case for so many people in our local communities. For a lot of our neighbors, the world has become gray and unsure. The Royal Family has been inspired by the efforts of Master Morien McBain and the Paladin’s Pantry – thus do We pledge to take a stand to make the lives of others a little more bright in this upcoming holiday season.
We would encourage any that are able to contribute to a reputable local or regional organization that can help feed those that are hungry in these trying times. We will be making a contribution within our home region to Mountaineer Food Bank https://www.mountaineerfoodbank.org/
Their Highnesses will be contributing to the Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network (Weirton, WV) that services the northern panhandle. Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network (BHFRN) https://www.brookehancockfrn.org/
As Always In Service With a Sharing Heart,
King Andreas and Queen Kallista
